Warner Bros. Japan together with filmmaker and visual effects expert Sori Fumihiko will bring the live action adaptation of Arakawa Hiromu's popular manga Fullmetal Alchemist. Yamada Ryosuke headlines the film as Edward Elrich. Fujioka Dean, Honda Tsubasa, Hongo Kanata, and Renbustu Misako make up the supporting cast. The film is slated for a December 1st theatrical release in Japan.

What the Movie is all about: The movie takes place at the beginning of the 20th century, in a reality where alchemy (ancient esoteric science that sought the transmutation of matter) is real, extremely developed and respected. The plot features brothers Edward (Ryosuke Yamada) and Alphonse Elric who, after attempting the forbidden technique of human transmutation, suffer the consequences. Alphonse loses his entire body while Edward loses his left leg. Edward then sacrifices his right arm to save his brother's soul by attaching it to a metal suit of armor. Edward is then given mechanical prosthetics known as "auto-mail" in place of his missing arm and leg. Upon acceptance into the State Alchemists, he is given the nickname "Fullmetal Alchemist", all while searching with Alphonse for the legendary philosopher's stone, that will repair their bodies.

Stardust Pictures collaborates with Dias Police director Tominaga Masanori for the live-action adaptation of Nananan Kiriko's manga 'Pumpkin and Mayonnaise' -  南瓜とマヨネーズ, about an unemployed and aspiring musician whose girlfriend works as a club hostess unbeknownst to him. Upon his discovery, he searches for work while his girlfriend met an ex-lover, complications ensue. Taiga and Asami Usuda play the couple, while Odagiri Joe is the ex.

What the Movie is all about: Miho and Sei are living together. She works at a boutique while he tries to make it as a songwriter and musician. Even though Miho still can’t forget about Hagio, her ex-lover, she is happy in her relationship with Sei. However, all is not well for the young couple. Struggling to make ends meet, Miho decides to take a second job as a bar hostess. As she becomes increasingly desperate for money, Miho eventually gives in to one of her client’s sexual advances. When Sei finds out about this he begins to distance himself from her. Things get even more complicated for Miho when Hagio suddenly reappears in her life.

Showgate and Heroine Shikkaku director Hanabusa Tsutomu collaborate for the live-action feature Tori Girl - トリガール!, based on the novel of Nakamura Kou. The comedy is about Yukina who enters a science university, fell for a senior student but became distracted with another young man whom she dislikes. The screenplay is written by Izumi Takahashi, known for his work in Runaway beat and Solanin. Tsuchiya Tao headlines the movie as Yukina, with Mamiya Shotaro and Takasugi Mahiro playing major roles.

What the Movie is all about: Based on the novel "Tori Garu!" by Kou Nakamura, the LA is about Yukina, a University freshman who fell in love with a senior student named Kei (Takasugi Mahiro). To get closer to him, Yukina joins the “human-powered flight” club and is then required to learn how to fly. A contest " "Tori Ningen Contest" was an opportunity to her to team up with Kei but was assigned to compete with another guy, Sakaba (Mamiya Shotaro). What could have been a romantic moment for the girl turned into something else? 

Kadokawa Pictures is spearheading the live-action adaptation of Yonezawa Honobu's novel Hyouka - 氷菓 - about four freshmen who discovered a certain 'anthology' published 33 years ago by the Classics Lit club, where they belong. Yamazaki Kento and Hirose Alice play the main characters. They investigate the past and in turn discovered what happened previously to former students (and members of the club) and its impact on the school. The movie is slated for a November 3, 2017, theater date.

What the Movie is all about: Freshman Oreki Hotaro (Yamazaki Kento) applies for membership of the school's Classics Lit. Club upon the prodding of his older sister and meets Chitanda Eru (Hirose Alice). Chitanda has a particular knack for mysteries and to Hotaro's surprise, they began to collaborate as 'investigators' until they chance upon an 'anthology' published by the club 33 years ago. The said anthology occurred during a tumultuous time in Japan's history and involved a relative who suffered tragic consequences as a result of a certain 'school activity'. 

Based on the novel "Kimi no Suizo wo Tabetai" by Yoru Sumino, I Want to Eat Your Pancreas is one of the latest Japanese Toho drama that tackles the issues of incurable disease and romantic intimate relationships. Tsukikawa Sho (who will also direct the Suda-Tsuchiya LA My Little Monster) will direct the film and stars Hamabe Minami and Kitamura Takumi as the ill-fated lovers. Oguri Shun and Kitagawa Keiko will play pivotal parts.

What the Movie is all about: Based on the novel "Kimi no Suizo wo Tabetai" by Yoru Sumino, the movie tells the tale of a boy (Kitamura) who discovered the diary of a girl named Sakura (Minami Hamabe). The diary tells of the girl's apparent tragedy. She suffers from a pancreatic disease. Thus she died early. But the boy was able to spend some time with her and in the process inspired him to become a teacher. Fast forward 12 years later, the teacher (now played by Oguri) remembers the dead girl and also became involved with her friend (played by Kitagawa).

Furusawa Takeshi (Another, ReLIFE) takes the directorial seat for the LA of manga artist Musawo's Love and Lies - Koi to Uso (恋と嘘), a tale about forbidden love and living under the watchful eyes of an overzealous Japanese government. Showgate will distribute the film and also employs the writing services of Yoshida Erika to translate Musawo's work into the silver screen. Morikawa Aoi headlines the LA, with Kitamura Takumi and "Gekidan EXILE" member Sato Kanta playing rivals. The release is tentatively announced for Fall 2017.

What the Movie is all about: Lies are forbidden and love is doubly forbidden. In the near future, when young people in Japan turn sixteen, they are assigned a marriage partner by the government. People don't have to go through the trouble of looking for someone, and everyone accepts that the government will find a suitable partner to make them happy. Aoi Nisaka (Morikawa Aoi) is a high school student. She is in a love triangle with childhood friend Yuto Shiba (Kitamura Takumi) and Sosuke Takachiho (Sato Kanta). Sosuke Takachiho is appointed by the government to become her husband.
