From our profile: Kento Hayashi started playing teen roles (Battery, Dive!) and soon graduated to matured young characters (Parade, Coyote, Arakawa Under the Bridge) depicting some of the most controversial and extraordinary personages in Japan.

I took notice of this young actor in the sports-drama Dive! Hayashi played one of the lead roles and what separated him from the rest of the cast is his intensity as an actor. He possesses this youthful, vibrant charm that lights up the screen. In Parade, where I saw him next, he played a much matured role - but with the same intensity. What makes him an exceptionally gifted young actor is his ability to sink into his roles and played it to perfection. I just hope he will not get into those teeny-bopper roles and play the sugary romantic lead. [ read more ]
